Community Support Campaign

The YMCA’s annual community support campaign ensures that Y programs are accessible to all by providing subsidies and financial assistance to individuals and families most in need.

Led by hundreds of community volunteers, the Y’s annual campaign is an outreach program where 100% of the campaign funds are invested in people, and where the programs and services delivered reinforce the importance of adults interacting and connecting with youth. Through your generous donation the YMCA nurtures and develops compassionate, confident and responsible community members by:

Each year, individual branches hold campaigns to raise funds for their community's needs. A campaign is also held at the Association-level where the monies are allocated to the East Palo Alto and Sequoia YMCAs to cover programs such as after-school enrichment, camp scholarships, youth sports and Youth & Government, to children and families who could otherwise not afford to participate.

The Community Support Campaign serves many purposes. It is a means to:

  • Raise funds to cover program costs for children and families who cannot afford to pay full program fees.
  • Provide program subsidies and community outreach services to lower-income, under-served populations.
  • Create greater understanding within the community of the total scope and impact of YMCA programs.
