Registered Green Building under LEED®

As a registered Green Building under LEED®, many materials used in the construction of  the Lewis and Joan Platt East Palo Alto Family YMCA are comprised of recycled materials.  Energy is used efficiently, consuming about
half the energy that a similar facility would use; water is conserved using
low-flow bathroom fixtures that consume less water; special carpets, paints
and glues were used that don’t emit the same chemicals of standard materials.
