Volunteer at the Y

Volunteers are the backbone of the YMCA of the Mid-Peninsula and contribute vital services including lead programs, coach and referee sports, plan events, provide professional services, help raise funds for our annual Community Support Campaign, and make up our Board of Directors. No matter how you help, your time and energy will go a long way and you’ll make a positive difference for yourself, for others and for your community.

We have many volunteer opportunities ranging from one-time, short-term and long-term positions. Our current volunteer opportunities include helping with special events, mentoring and tutoring youth, working with children in our youth programs, and office and clerical support.

->What is a Program Volunteer?

A program volunteer is any volunteer who offers his/her services at a program or administrative level on a continuing basis, including volunteers who are completing community service hours. Examples of program volunteers include adults who volunteer to coach youth sports or those who consistently tutor youth at our after school programs.

->What is a Policy Volunteer?

Our Board of Directors are our policy volunteers. These dedicated individuals help determine the direction of our organization, set policies and provide governance oversight with the President & CEO and Branch Executives.
