->Henry Page Computer Center

The Henry Page Computer Center was opened in the winter of 2000 through the generous donations of IBM, Intel, and Adaptec. Named after Henry Page, youth advocate and community organizer, the Center has eleven computers, a printer and a scanner, and offers a number of comprehensive programs for youth and adults. Come and check it out. If you need to research on the internet or print out papers for school, drop by the Henry Page Computer Center. Our computer classes can help improve your knowledge and skills on the computer and individual classes can be set up. Additionally, homework support and college prep support and advice is offered Monday through Thursday

->Noon Sports

In 2003 in response to a need for noon time recreation at Nixon Elementary school, the Noon Time Sports program was started. In 2004 El Carmelo and Ohlone schools joined the program. The program has grown to include Hoover, Barron Park, Fairmeadow and Palo Verde Elementary Schools. This  brings the total of  schools in the Palo Alto School District serviced by this Palo Alto Family YMCA program to seven..

On average 30 –- 40 children in grades 1-5, participate at each session. Most schools have one session per week. Nixon and Fairmeadow have two weekly sessions. The kids participate in a variety of sports, such as football, kickball, soccer and dodgeball. They also enjoy other organized games such as Capture the Flag, Freeze Tag and Doctor and Spy.

Our objectives are to create a safe and fun environment that is equally enjoyable for both boys and girls, and someday, to offer this program at all 12 elementary schools in the Palo Alto School District.
