Peter Coebergh
Peter has been working here since October of 2005. He is a certified Personal Trainer through NASM.
Peter is a retired United Airlines pilot who has taken up exercise science as a retirement career. Peter is eager to help not only personal training clients but anyone who might seek advice while on the exercise floor.
Peter specializes in balance, coordination, flexibility and strength.
JC Guzman
JC has been working here since 2005. He is a certified Fitness Specialist and a certified Personal Trainer through the YMCA, Foothill College PT Program, BOSU, Pilates, ACE, TRX® and a certified AYSO soccer coach. JC is a martial arts instructor and holds a first-degree black belt in Kenpo.
JC is currently studying for his master’s degree in Sport Psychology at SJSU. He enjoys training children, teens, and adults and works with sports specific, sport injuries, post therapy and beginner clients. He focuses his training on functional movement to achieve the client’s needs and goals. He likes working at the Y for its diverse, family oriented philosophy.
Juana Navarro
Juana has been working here since 1996. She is a certified personal trainer and strength trainer through the YMCA. She is also certified through the YMCA as Pilates, Step, and Group Exercise instructor with an additional certification as a Zumba instructor. She is currently taking personal training courses at Canada College.
Juana’s approach to personal training is focused on core and older-adult training. She loves to work at the YMCA because she meets nice people and enjoys helping them . Juana is also fluent in Spanish
Yaser Rawashdeh
Yaser has been working here since December 2004. He worked at Foothill College as an assistant instructor for the Adaptive Fitness Program.
He is certified as a Specialist in Adaptive Fitness Therapy and personal trainer through ISSA, NASM and the YMCA. He is also certified as a massage therapist. He holds a masters degree in S.E. and a BS in Athletic Injuries.
Yaser enjoys working with people who have disabilities, sport injuries, post therapy and people who wish to lose weight. Yaser is also fluent in Arabic.
David Toy
David began working here in July, 2007. He is a NSCA™ Certified Personal Trainer and Foothill College Personal Training Certification Program honors graduate with an emphasis on Athletic Training, Injury Prevention, Older Adults, and Rehabilitation. He specializes in Sport Specific Training, Strength and Conditioning, and Lifestyle & Weight-Loss. David’s experience includes competitive athletics, Professional Ski Instructor, Patrol Leader and Testing and Training Instructor; and more.
David likes to design programs where the solutions are elegant and create a great client experience. It has to be fun, effective, safe and energizing!
Charlene Wonpat
Charlene has been working here since October 2005. She has her B.S. degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science and Fitness and an A.A. degree in Business Administration. She specializes in Adaptive Physical Fitness. Charlene has five years of experience working with the disabled, at the College of San Mateo. She also worked for a year in the Older Adults Exercise Program at Foothill College. Her goal is to increase the quality of life for everyone she works with by using the principles of Exercise Science and Wellness. She is passionate about working for the YMCA because it is the heart of the community.
